What do you do when you are in the middle of ...

What do you do when you are in the middle of reconciling a marriage and your 12 year old daughter says you love Mommy more than you do me and that I don't care about her, just Mommy. She also will not let us be alone together, she cannot stand my wife and I having alone time now.

Live simply, love generously, care deeply,

speak kindly, leave the rest to God.

You need to talk to your daughter one on one and explain to her that you love her too but in a different way. Tell her that you love her Mommy too but it is the love for a wife and that reconciling with her Mommy will make this house a home again, that you will be a happier father when her mom is back. When you and your wife want to spend quality time together, make an arrangement for your daughter to have a sleep over with her cousins if she has any or with other close relatives.

She needs to understand that you need to have some privacy too. Being 12, she would have a pretty good understanding why you need some privacy.
