What makes Susan Boyle so interesting?

You know, it's really not just one of those things.  It's the whole package, like Kibbutz said.  Here is a 100% selfless, simple woman, that grew up in the same house her whole life, helping her parents until the day each of them died.  She gave up on her own dreams, but still went to Church and volunteered on a regular basis, to help others, when her life was so plain. So many people run after their own dreams and don't care about who they step on along the way.  But I see Susan and someone who let the world sort of step on her, until the day she opened up her mouth on that stage.  Everyone that knew her knew she had a great voice, they just assumed she'd never get anywhere in life.  Her mother's dying wish was that she would make something of herself, and because of this she went on the show, not because she felt like running free and chasing after fame, after she was free from the job of caring for her parents.  She stood there on the stage almost like this was her last purpose in life, ready to take what life had to offer her, and so many stood there with this knowledge on their face that the world would offer her nothing but laughs.  But she opened up her mouth, confident to accept whatever this opportunity would offer. 

I believe the most interesting thing about her is that she is exactly what you see. She does not care what people think of her and the reaction in the crowd and the judges was quite embarassing to say the least. Our world judges so much on looks that so many talented people are overlooked. I think she was a breath of fresh air to most people who are sick of the usual talentless princesses i.e. Jessica Simpson. I'm so proud of Susan Boyle for staying true to herself!

Hi, ---------- I think that the keyword to understand why is Susan Boyle so interesting is: Surprise. To be honest she is: not good looking, doesn’t look like a performer, too fat, it seems that she never been to a beauty salon, too old, dresses like living at the 18th century, and even her English sounds to me not brushed enough…… But, all that disappears when she opens her mouth to give that beautiful great sounds of heaven very accurate and with the right rhythm.…..
