How do i balance a pressure tank system? I have a ...

HOW DO I BALANCE A PRESSURE TANK SYSTEM? I have a deep well with a holding tank. Lately the pump seems to be running longer than usual. Is the pressure too high on the holding tank and making the pump work harder to fill it up? What is the normal run time for a deep well pump?
