I think it depends on what you want to use your computer for. There are advantages to using the windows interface on the one and the same is with the mac. The windows interface is certainly faster but on the other hand I have heard colleagues speaking about the fact that the mac is easier to use. Here is an article that give and overview of Mac Vs. PC. The only reason you would buy a mac is for the simplicity.

Really the programs you use really decide what OS you use and what Computer you use.
Let that decide for you.
Mac's have less applications for use then windows.

I suspect if that if you used a Mac for a week, you would never go back to a PC!

If you by chance should happen to get a newer MAC with an Intel chipset, you can download a beta MAC program called boot camp and install Windows XP on this same computer. Then you can have the best of both worlds. If you are not a "techie" I would definately read up on how to do this. I have Windows XP and MAC OS X running on the same MAC Book Pro which was recently purchased.
