My mother has been fighting lung cancer for 5 ...

My mother has been fighting lung cancer for 5 years now. A spot on her spine was just found by her recent MRI and is now receiving radiation(10 treatments). She is having no pain with her back. Can you give me a prognosis as how long till it shows up in other organs or brain? What about life expectancy? THANK YOU

American Association for Cancer Research: Clinical Trial Awareness American Association for Cancer Research Aims to Raise Awareness about the Importance of Clinical Trial Participation. Most Americans with cancer would be receptive to participating in clinical trials if they knew about them. In a survey of 6,000 cancer patients, 85 percent were either unaware or unsure that participation in a clinical trial was an option. Seventy-five percent said they would have been willing to enroll had they known it was possible. This lack of knowledge is leading to a crisis in cancer drug development with 80 percent of clinical trials in the U.S. being delayed because of unfulfilled enrollmentii. It's so scary that some people don't even like to say the word, let alone have a laugh about it. But when comedian André Vincent was diagnosed with cancer of the kidney in March 2002, all he could think about was the potential for some really great stand-up material. André decided to include cancer in his act and, judging from the responses of some of his audience, found comedy to be an interesting way to tackle such a taboo subject.
