Now he says that we need to talk about our ...

Now he says that we need to talk about our relationship to decide if we want to stay together or what, I have been trying to talk to him, but he just doesn't want to talk to me for some unknown reason. I would really like to know why, so what can I do to get his attention to talk to him?

Hi,

If he doesn't want to talk to you there is no way to force him. That only shows that the communications between you are poor. I am afraid he has some hidden agenda. It seems to me that he is planning something and it is all set in advance. I have the feeling that he doesn't want to have an open discussion (to reach a mutual understanding) but rather "pretend" as if you have a discussion while actually he is all set in advance..... No offence please but that's what I feel.... If I am right than you should test him: Before he starts talking ask him 1 single question: "Is it a real open discussion or is it all set ?..... only if he answers that it is an open discussion go on.... if it's not, than better have a discussion on your own terms.... If he says yes it is open and then you realized it's not an open discusion than stop it at once.

Once again Oron is right.Communication is crucial in a marriage and he's not holding up his end of the bargain.Try talking to him in a manner that doesn't put him on the defensive.Say things such as "I feel..." and "I want.." so he doesn't feel like your problems are all his fault (even thought they probably are :-p).Rent a hilarious movie(may I suggest Superbad?) and watch it snuggled on the couch together.This intimacy can open the door to conversation.Good luck hon!
