In love with my best friend

I think I’m in love with my best friend. We have been inseparable  since we were kids. We were always just friends until a few years ago, after a drunken New Years party, when we ended up having the best sex of my life. I can’t stop thinking about it. We laughed it off at the time, but have avoided any late night get-togethers ever since. He is dating someone now so I don’t think I can tell him how I feel. Too many people could get hurt. I care about him so much that even if I can’t be with him romantically, I want to find a way for us to be as close as we once were without any awkwardness. What should I do?

OK it was a great one-night-stand BUT He is dating someone else and you and he are avoiding late night get-togethers. It seems that he is backing off for a while because he may want only to be a best friend and no more or he needs time to think and decide if he would like to move over to a more romantic path with you. Times have changed and women who are somewhat aggressive are not frowned upon by society. I think that instead of thinking about him all the time and that wonderful night ask him how he would like to continue since you have really fallen for him and are even ready to accept his decision even if it is only to remain best friends.

Love is the battery of life....

Hi,

What do you mean "I think I am in love with ....." ?,  don't think.... you are already in deep deep deep love with him..... it happened so quickly and surprisingly that you hardly realize it actually happend.....  Now you are dreaming about him, thinking about him hours after hours, you go to sleep with him (virtually) and you get up with him, you can sense his smell, and you can sense his touches and warmth..... you see his picture all day long in front of you.....   If that's exactly the case than don't give up your love.  Have an open discussion with him.  Tell him exactly how and what you feel, and what happend 2U after your last party, and don't be afraid to ask him if there is any chance that you be together and create the best couple on earth.  It's not time to be shy, stand for what is right and what you want (That's the old good Amrican spirit !!!).  Go for it and you'll thank me.
Best regards,

This is the very best time to tell him how you feel, before he gets too involved emotionally and physically with his new partner. He may feel the same way about you, too, but is similarly too afraid to speak. If he is not particularly interested in having you as a lover, you might as well find about that, too. Now!

Love Cards

You can tell your feelings to him through a card by writing down all your emotions in that. Gift him anything that he likes a lot and go out with him for a romantic dinner. Best friends are usually great life partners. You can celebrate the upcoming Best Friend's Day on June 8th this year.

Be honest and be true to yourself.

Hi,

You love him and you have known him since childhood.  You need to tell him your feelings for him.  Two things could happen.  He may break up his relationship with the other girl or he will choose you.  If he chooses you, that's great, but if he won't then try to forget that sexual encounter with him.

i have two bffs (a guy and a girl) and they're going out with each other. but i really love my guy best friend as more than a friend. so once when we were at the park walking his dog/babysitting his sister, we looked at each other in the eyes and started kissing out of nowhere. i have no idea who started it, but does it matter? he was an ahmazingg kisser. but now we're avoiding each other and my girl best friend has no idea it's happened and she thinks it's weird that we're suddenly shunning each other. do i tell her or not?

Read the last 5 lines of your question. You can't have it both ways. Sorry!

It's harder for two friends (male and female) to remain very close once they start dating, but since he does not seem to want a repeat of your great night together, just tell him that you want to be his friend like you used to be.  Don't try to make anything happen.  I married a friend of mine after knowing him for 10 years as a adult.  Sometimes you just have to wait for the right timing.
