What suggestions do people have for me to help me to lose weight?

The bottom line basic suggestion is, 'Eat less, exercise more.'
Now, how to execute it?
~ Eat slowly. You'll allow time for your brain to signal your body that it's full.
~ If you really want to slow yourself down, try eating with chopsticks. Unless you're proficient with them, you'll have to take your time!
~ Serve yourself dinner on a salad plate. Salad plates are smaller, so a smaller portion will take up most of the plate - which will fool you into thinking you're eating more.
~ Always set the table (placemat, napkin, fork, etcetera) and sit down to eat - every time you eat. This makes it harder to snack (because you can't allow yourself to eat over the sink or out of the package).
~ Take the stairs instead of the elevator. If you can't manage to go all the way up, go as far as you can before taking the elevator. Try to increase your level each day (or week).
~ Bend, jump and stretch when you do chores. Put on some fast music and dance while you vacuum or do dishes. You'll feel (and look) like an idiot, but the extra movement is a great way to burn off calories.
~ If you don't like standard exercise, try something fun. Buy a hula hoop and see how many times you can rotate it around your body; or get a jump rope and challenge yourself to jump 100 times without missing a skip.
Those are just a few ideas - I'm sure you can think of many more.
