how long is your sliced ham and turkey good for in the refrigerator?
The best information I have found indicates that 3-5 days is the safe time to keep deli sandwich meat in the fridge. The assumptions are: 1. You kept it cold and refrigerated it within 1-2 hours of purchase, depending on how hot the outside temp was when you bought it 2. Your fridge is kept between 32-40 degrees F (actually, 40 F is considered the start of the DANGER ZONE. If the deli meat stays above 40 F for more than 2 hours in winter or more than 1 hour in summer, throw it out) 3. You store it in an appropriate container--not just the paper it is wrapped in. 4. The deli where you bought the meats is clean, they use fresh products, etc.
