For how long will Gordon Brown be prime minister?

For how long will Gordon Brown be prime minister? IIRC the polls indicate that he's likely to lose the next elections, but I can't remember when they are going to be held.

55 thumbs up

I've been learning a bit about Gordon Brown (starting with this Yedda question).  I think he's being underestimated.  He suffers by comparison to Tony Blair's brilliance at politics.  However, I have the feeling that the British and the world would be pleasantly surprised by his performance as Prime Minister, once the focus shifts away from Blair.

The election can be held as late as June 3, 2010 (five years after the previous election), which would give Brown time to prove himself.  (BBC News: Tory team to set sights on power)  However, the election may be held in spring 2008, which would give him a shorter time frame.  (BBC News: Labour 'warns of early election')  Personally, I'm hoping for the longer time.
