Who likes the new format? Who hates the new format?

Hello, Yeddai one and all.

Well, as we all know by now; Yedda has initiated some changes. So what I'd like to know (just for my own personal edification) is: Does ANYONE prefer this new format to the old format?

I find it difficult to navigate and next to impossible to determine which thread has new responses. So far, I've got 12 of them lurking somewhere - I've just no idea where.

I want to hear from other Yeddai, please tell me what you think. Oh, and please just post it as an answer so we can all read it. If you do click "Comment" then I think it goes off to a separate page so we can't read it in the turn in which it appears.

I look forward to seeing your replies. That is, if I can figure out how to get to them.

I like the new format - looks much better and more user-friendly. I haven't lost myself in navigating around, just yet Smile

Really? Okay, I have to ask... Are you new? I see that there are only 7 answers listed under your screen name, so perhaps you're not faced with the same problem I'm having.

I have answers appearing in many threads. Some threads have multiple replies. So what's happening to me is that I cannot locate the threads in which the "new replies" appear. Although I am aware that they exist, I don't know in which thread.

Furthermore, I cannot merely open my most recent answers to find out which thread contains the new answers. I've tried that several times - I've been wrong each time.

And I have also determined that the "Comment" section confuses me, as it seems to suck the comments off to another area, so that I cannot read the comments and replies as they occur but must instead click on each in turn and read everything piecemeal.

Surely this must be similar to what it's like to have dyslexia. I see the letters on the page, but they have no meaning and I understand nothing.

Personally, I give it THUMBS DOWN!

I'm with you.  I'M having the same problems as you and jkgrandma.  I really don't like the changes.  It was easier to do exactly what you wanted to do.  It seems like now you tend to spend to much time looking through things that you don't need to to find what you are looking for.

I think this new program is just plain stupid!  Why is it listing every single comment I ever made on Yedda?  It should just list the questions that I commented under, not every single comment.  How stupid is that!  I think Yedda made a very big mistake with this change.  Many people have mentioned leaving and finding new sites to comment on.  I am looking for some new ones myself.  This new Yedda is just too aggravating and too time consuming.  VERY STUPID MOVE, YEDDA!  Yedda is slow the way it is, now it is even slower.

Hi Jkgrandma.  I am having the same problems as well.  I don't like the new changes at all.  I wish they would change it back to the way it was.  I can't seem to locate any of the threads with new posts either.  Most of us are here to help people...thumbs down Yedda.  Frown

Yesterday's gone and Today is going fast, Tomorrow is all we have, Until it to has passed

I'm with jkg and Anna Sparkey's mom, I don't like it at all. Far too confusing.

The only thing I do like is the elimination of the total thumbs up. I do prefer the new format showing how many of our answers were helpful, as opossed to all the bloated thumbs up numbers, much more honest and practical.

Like jkg said I know there are new answers posted on threads I posted answers on previously, but have no way of finding them. And I enjoy seeing what others have posted, with out having to go through the WHOLE list of new answers everytime. I miss seeing others' comments and ideas AFTER I've posted, even if it's months later! Sometimes someone else has a different or better idea, and I'd like to KNOW what it is. The whole idea of this site is sharing knowledge, and learning from each other. But how can we share anything or learn anything, if we can't FIND IT???????

What you describe are actually bugs in the new format and not issues of the format itself. Yedda has far too many bugs already which is frustrating. As for the format itself I'd be waiting for the bugs in it to be fixed and then I would share my opinion.
