When do teachers get together for team planing, and how many days do you meet? Can teachers plan their own lesson plan or does it have to be a team planner. If someone would please e-mail me a sample of their lesson plan so I could just get an idea of what to excpet.
At the school my mom teaches at, I know that there are 3 teachers in their team, and my mom is the team leader. I think they meet at least once a week to discuss the week's plans, and then each teacher elaborates on the plans and decides how exactly they want to do everything. Truthfully though, if you are a new teacher, I think that it wouldn't hurt to just request from your team leader to meet up a few times during the week, to make sure everything is going OK. I'm sorry. I'm not a teacher and my mom is far away, so I don't have a plan to send you. But, don't worry, the other teachers will help you get used to everything. Good luck!
I teach middle school language arts and reading. We operate on a team level, like you mentioned. We are lucky enough in our district to have team planning periods. Meaning I can collaborate with not only my team members (who also teach core subjects like science, math and social studies) but also other grade level teachers who also teach language arts and reading.
Lesson plans are pretty much up to each teacher to manage. I am also lucky enough to NOT have to turn in lesson plans on a weekly basis, but do so at the beginning of each quarter. Those go to adminstration. As for an example of a lesson plan, I'd be happy to pass an example on if you reply. I don't want to send something if you no longer need it. Im sure 7th graders are a lot different from 1st graders, so please know I am willing to share; however, very little may be applicable.
Hope this gives you a sample of lesson plans in my world.
