It Ain't Over Till It's Over!!!!

I left my job because my boss was on drugs in the office all the time. Can I file a law suit?

I had to leave my job of 11 months because the owner of the company and my immedisate boss is a prescription drug addict. I am a person in recovery with 2.5 years of sobriety and could not work with a person under the influence on a daily basis. I tried to get her help, she went to my rehab for 10 days but returned to using shortly after. She contested my unemployment and I am almost out of money.  I loved my job, was great at it and went above and beyond  what I was hired for. I would still be there if it were not for her refusal to deal with her addiction. It was a small company of 7 people.

Can I file a lawsuit against her for being under the influence of drugs in the office and forcing me to have to choose to leave my job?

Can you prove in court that she was under the influence when you had that conversation. I am not a lawyer but I think you will have case if she committed a crime but simply being on drugs while at work is not considered a felony. You have to build your case on a much stronger foundation if you want to win.
