What are we learning here on Yedda?

Whenever people get together in any way, there are infinite possibilities... the possibilities for happiness, anger, war, disagreement, raging ego, fear, love.  The list goes on and on.  Next month will mark my one year anniversary at Yedda.  I have seen everything in the aforementioned list.  The most wonderful thing I have witnessed, however, is a shift in angry people who suddenly realize that their anger is standing in the way of connecting with other human beings.  It is an acceptance on their part that we are all different , and yet they are able to see the wonderfulness in the different "others."

If we want to change the world, perhaps this openess and sight is what is needed??

What have you learned here on Yedda?

P.S. Note to Equus and FB, your connection is pretty awesome.... didn't want to leave that out.  Smile

Elena,  I have learned that acting stupid and crazy is for the birds!  Yes, I have had my problems on yedda, but a very wonderful woman who goes by jkgrandma accepted me anyway, and I love her to pieces for that.  In fact, I love all of my new friends on Yedda.  Each one is very special to me in their own way.  I think next month would have also been my one year anniversary on yedda.  I know it was way before Thanksgiving.  But my Sparky account got bumped off so many times, that I don't even know what date it was anymore.  My new anniversay is when I was accepted by a bunch of great people, and I want them as my friends forever.  Much love to all of them.

I learned there are a lot of intelligent people out there who are kind enough to share their knowledge and experience with others.

Special mention goes to Jkgrandma.

If my kids have a good life, I will be happy

I would say what I have learned from my experience here is that "If you're going to play in the Sand Box, try not to resemble a Cat POOP!"

I have made a handful of wonderful friends on here. I started out trying to resolve a question for my daughter; and then answering some questions, trying to help. And then - Staying around, to have a few questions answered myself. About myself. And have felt, at times, that this is family.

Thanks for my past 11 months!

Shout-out to my peeps!

Psst: "You know who you is! Word"

Turn off the television and teach your children how to think.

I've learned patience. Sort of.

Okay, well at least I've learned not to point out every single spelling and grammar error I come across. Mostly because if I tried, I'd never do anything else. Sometimes it's hard to believe people have access to Spell Check and online dictionaries but still produce incoherent sentences full of misteaks (error intended).

To me, the best thing about Yedda is my friendship with the SNOTS. Plus the other (non-SNOTS) friends and acquaintances I've made, of course.

It's been a lot of fun meeting everyone and sharing thoughts, dreams, ideas, words - and lives.

You guys (SNOTS and otherwise) are the best. Keep up the good work. And if there comes a day when I'm no longer on Yedda, you've got to promise to (verbally, but nicely) kick some butt in my honor. Hiding and/or staying silent just isn't my style.

I won't stand for anything less.

I'm not sure what I've learned, but I have definitely found some of the people I've encountered to be an inspiration in different ways.

I have learned to value myself again.  I have learned that I have something of value to offer others.  I have learned how very important love and friendship really are.  I have learned that people are often not what they seem to be and that not everyone that you love is actually good for you.  I have learned that I have an endless capacity to love and that I have more patience than jkgrandma.

I love Yedda and I have wonderful memories of exchanges between people I love and people that bug the hell out of me.  It has all been good in one way or another.  The bad teaches good things ~ things I needed to learn.  There are people on Yedda that I would sacrifice almost anything for. . . . . . . . . . People I have never met yet love so completely.  It has been a blessing to me.

To Equus, FB, Grandma, Elena, Anna, Daniel, NJoy, Chucho, George, Donna aka Maya, Geezer, Jay, Db Lady, Morethanone, MW, ProfitBob, and the rest of the Yedda community, you are all so dear to me.  I love you with all my heart!
