If your attitude is that you want to do the job and get rich and get out, I'd advise you not to do it. I managed strip clubs. The girls that made the best money are the girls that enjoy what they're doing. Like any entertainment job, the more you enjoy what you're doing, the more that is passed along to the audience and the more they enjoy it. And, in my club at least, most of the strippers were single moms and college students working to make a living.
#1 you should genuinely enjoy dancing.
#2 It doesn't actually matter what you look like mostly. My girls were fat, thin, short, tall, plain, gorgeous, and included one little person. It's all in how you present yourself.
#3 Work for a respectable club. You want a club that enforces the rules and takes care of its girls. If you work in a sleazy club you're going to get dragged down. Plus, the sleazy clubs are not the ones that make good money. You want a club that keeps its girls safe. And yes, I could tell you stories about girls being attacked and even murdered. It does happen. A good club will have someone to walk you to your car after work and make sure you stay safe while at work.
#4 Be willing to work, and work hard. Stripping ain't easy money, and if you aren't prepared for the job, and the stresses that go with the job, it can really fuck you up. But in my club, on a good night, the best girls could make anywhere from 1000 to 3000 a night. And by best girls, I don't necessarily mean the best looking. I mean the girls that really worked it and put all they had into it.
#4 don't look at the guys that come to clubs as sleazes. A lot of the guys that came to my club were perfectly respectable businessmen who just wanted a night out to have fun and watch pretty women. If you consider these guys sleazebags that will show in your performance. Yeah, there are sleazebags and perverts and troublemakers in any crowd. But they're the exceptions, not the rule.
#5 Make sure you tip the DJ well and treat him well. The DJ can make a lot of difference in your income and popularity.
