Laws about being an accomplice of stolen items ...

laws about being an accomplice of stolen items under $25 in california. I'm curious about what the punishment might be? I had no idea the person I was with had stolen anything. I was forced to sign a blacklist paper for a walmart, can I revise that? Also would I have a good chance of fighting in court?
