Has anyone had lasik eye surgery done?
I'm thinking of getting it done but I want to hear about others people's experiences and thoughts about it. Is it worth the price and risk?
LASIK eye surgery is generally considered to be a safe and effective method of treating near-sightedness, far-sightedness, and astigmatism and millions of people undergo this procedure every year throughout the world. The FDA considers the risks to be low enough to approve the technology required for LASIK (microkeratomes, excimer lasers, etc.) Safety can be increased by selecting a skilled surgeon using the best technology. Studies show that experience is one of the most important factors in selecting a surgeon.

I had great success with the surgery and would recommend it to anyone. I had really bad vision though so it was worth it to me to go through the discomfort of the surgery. I had found a question here on yedda a little while back that helped me make the decision for myself.

Read this article just issued by the FDA. They sent a letter to doctors requesting that they tell patients about risks associated with Lasik eye surgery after receiving numerous complaints from consumers who experienced double and fuzzy vision and painful dry eyes after getting the procedure.
