Does laser eye surgery work? Is it painful? I heard that you need to have your eyes open the whole surgery, can you see everything they are doing? I am thinking about getting it and am freaked.
I have a mate whose just had it done, he said that it was the best money hes ever spent. He said it was quite painful, with the apparatus pushed against the eye. But he said the results were well worth the pain.
With anything in life there are risks. Just leaving your home is a risk. However with LASIK the risk is that it could be "over treated" and so you will have to wear corrective glasses in order to see properly. If it is "under treated" then you simply need a little more work done. However all the info I have read on the topic suggests that it isn't painful.
Yes, I've had eye surgery and it is wonderful. No it doesn't hurt, I went from being nearly legally blind to 22/22. Do the surgery.
One of my friends had it done because she was tired of wearing glasses. She was nervous but found the doctors and staff very nice and they told her everything that was going on. The non-surgical eye was covered and the surgical eye is held open so that you cannot blink and mess things up. Don't do it until you get better control of yourself. You don't want your blood pressure to shoot up. Ask all the questions that you want, you're the patient. Find others who have had it done and ask them how they like having better vision. Good luck.
