Who do you know besides Larry Bird that became a sucessful NBA coach after being a leading player?
Byron Scott could be another example. He never was a player in Bird's caliber, but you should also remember that Bird had a very short coaching career (only 3 seasons with Indiana Pacers), so we can't really be sure what he'd do over a longer career as a coach.
