How to land a great job in international business administration?

Hey guys, I want to get a great career in international business but I have no particular company in mind.

I still have 2 years left in college to get my BA in business administration but I dont know if I should change that to international relations..?

I do have alot of experience living abroad especially in the Middle East and S.E Asia.

I speak Spanish and French fairly well and I would jump at the opportunity to be able to Learn Mandarin or maybe even Arbic though I've tried that before and know how hard it is..

I have been looking at alot of good paying international jobs but they all seem to want like 5 years of experience in the field.

How should I go about arousing the interest of such an employer? Would it be wise to start out at a  non-profit organization even if the pay is horrible and I'll have massive school debt?

Please guys, any advice as to how and where to get the credentials needed for a greatcareer in international business administration would be highly apreciated!

Also, should I get some work experience after my BA or go straight for a masters instead?

Thanx!

I think that the keyword in this situation is Networking. Companies usually look after very experienced people, as they prefer to invest more in paying high salary to get better results. The other option is that companies hire employees who are highly reliable. Those kind of employees are usually recommended by others, and in order to be recommended you should do some networking. I'd start out local. Don't aim too high or you'll be disappointed. Get a student or intern position, it's a good point to start from. That way you'll get to know new people from your field, get to know future options for professional development better and etc.

You need to focus on the large management consulting firms.  Deloitte, KPMG, Accenture, etc.

Your language skills with your knowledge of business administration will come in handy and be seen as an asset.

You need to probably start as an intern or junior analyst.  Research each consulting firm and find out which ones are recruiting at your school, or which of your profs have worked or consulted there.  Once you've done that, start working on friends, neighbors, etc.  Get an introduction.  If you can show that you are motivated and skilled, someone will recommend you.  The staff at most consulting firms are motivated as they sometimes get a finder fee if you are hired.

As for a non-profit...let's just say that option is even a greater longshot, and chances are you will be frustrated in that role quickly do to high motivation to do work and no pay.

 Best of luck.
