Why is my kidney not able to process high purines food well that lead to uric acid build up in my blood stream?

I developed joint pains on and off this year and start taking note of the food that I took in the week if I could link it with the joints pain. I also discovered recently that I have high uric acid and start to be cautious of my diet as I am 39 years old and had heard on how this joint pains could lead to gout and so on. My question is, why is my kidney not processing the uric acid well that lead to this uric acid build-up? I love seafood so must I stay away from seafood completely? How can I be free of these joint pains?

Recent studies have shown that a high fructose diet can raise blood uric acid level, more so than a high protein diet would. Fructose is found in almost all processed foods in the form of high fructose corn syrup.  Table sugar is also high in fructose in the sense that one molecule of sucrose hydrolyzes into one molecule of glucose and one molecule of fructose.  Therefore, to cut down on fructose consumption, the first step is to go on a low-glycemic diet, the type of diet recommended for diabetes.  Also try to reduce consumption of processed foods that contain high fructose corn syrup such as soda, ice cream, fruit juices, desserts, etc.  Many supposedly healthy foods such as oranges, corn, pineapple, grape, etc, are also high in fructose.  I don't think you should stay away from seafood completely as this may not have been the cause of your problem. Why not go on a low fructose diet and see if it helps.
