how do you get candle wax of a wall painted with flat paint

Using ice cubes rub on wax to freeze. With a putty knife carefully scrape off frozen wax removing as much residue as possible. With hair dryer heat area and apply clean soft cloth to warmed area blotting to remove remaining residue. Change area of cloth often so as not to wipe more wax on wall. Repeat this step untill as much as possible is removed. The wax may leave a stain (darkened spot).
