Greetings Yedda Family!!!!

I have an interview on Monday, and I'm asking for your help on some much needed advice.

first, let me tell you what I do know. I know there is no inappropriate dressing, a foul mouth, gum chewing, perfumed smell, asking about the pay, trashing my former employer, ( I have nothing bad to say about them anyway!) arriving late, kindly turning down a beverage, ( If offered ) no long fingernails, fidgeting, and probably tons more that I'm leaving out. But these are all common sense things anyway.

Now for what I don't know. Every interview that I have ever had, for some reason, after the interviewer asks me a question, my mind goes completely blank. Not good. It's like sometimes I just go into a fog, and I'm not even remembering the question. So my question to you is, how can I focus, I mean REALLY focus, and not go blank? I am a competent person, and I excel at what I do, I just want to be able to express myself like I know I can.

Thank you for taking the time to read this!!Smile And any advice will be GREATLY appreciated!!

Victims of circumstance owe it to fate. Victims of choice owe it to themselves.

Talk about the question in a non-committal fashion while you are organizing your thots. This will keep the question in your mind and avoid the dreaded dead air gap.

Interviewer: What do you think about Venezuela?

You: Vinnie Swailah. I haven't thot about Vinnie in years. When I last heard from him, he was selling cars in Joisey. I think with the attitudes that are held by the governing officials in Caracas and the environs, Venezuela could become more prominent in world affairs and alter the balance of power in the northern half of South America.

In this example, you have reminded yourself of the question and made a very non-committal response. If you would like an example which contains more serious content, then you will  need to manufacture a question and post it here. Just place it as an answer to your own question. I will WTQ. I do not promise to get back to you within eight hours. Neither I nor the world is perfect in every way.

Give me an example of a question that you would be asked to elicit the response that you describe.

Yesterday's gone and Today is going fast, Tomorrow is all we have, Until it to has passed

pa's girl, just ignore Jay, he likes to play with people's minds. There is nothing wrong with yours only his. Sometimes he makes absolutely no sense at all. Take it with a grain of salt.

As to the answer to your question, all of us have been in that same situation at one time or another.

The best thing to do is to clear your mind of any clutter, and concentrate on what is being asked. Don't let your thoughts run ahead of you wondering what they may or may not be thinking. Concentrate on the question being asked, you know the routine, so plan ahead what you plan to answer to each question. Go over it in your head several times before the actual interview, so by the time you get there, the response is immediate and well thought out.

Don't worry about inconsequential things, like whether or not you may have a thread on your skirt, or your hair isn't as perfect as you wanted it to be. Instead concentrate on your qualifications and your confidence in your ability to do the job for which you are interviewing.

And most importantly, remember the interviewer is just doing their JOB, like any other job, like the job for which you are interviewing. Be confidant, self-assured, and don't be intimidated by the surroundings. You know you're good at what you do, you know you are intelligent, so focus on those aspects. Worry is the cause of most confusion, so don't worry, be yourself and let YOU shine through.

Good luck, I hope you get the job!
