Love is the battery of life....

Hi Yaron,

It's normally the duty of the women to light the candles (on Shabath and Hollydays) but if no women are in the house a man can do it.  Here is a short quote (from Wikipedia):
Best regards,

Hi, Yaron.

If there's no woman in the house, the man can and --according to Jewish law -- MUST. In other words, at least 2 Shabbat candles must be lit per household, so if there's no woman around to do it, a man should light the candles.

Certainly. The rule is that candles must be lit in every Jewish home before the onset of the Sabbath. You can find the exact time in your local Jewish calendar.
