6 thumbs up

this question is very dependant on the climate, size of tree, and soils.  So let me know how big your tree is and and any other information about your tree.

One Japanese maple is 3 feet tall and spreads out about 3 feet.  The other is a different type but is about 5 feet tall and more upright.

New waterfall w/ japanese maple tree

New waterfall rebuilt on May 31, 2008! Two pallets of small stones were brought in and all of the large rocks came from my land. The small stones are about 3 feet deep, and there is a thick liner underneath them which surrounds the entire structure. The Japanese Maple tree was already on my property and was relocated to serve as an nice backdrop to the waterfall. No maintenance is required, and the waterfall can be turned on and off by a switch that is inside my home. Within the next two weeks, sod will be laid in every area around the waterfall and the entire dirt pit.
