How can I exactly download songs into a ipod?

You need to download itunes and upload all the songs into the music library. Once all the songs are in the music library, insert the USB cable into your ipod and the computer. a screen will pop up that will ask if you'd like to sync your ipod with your computer; the answer is yes.

If you bought the ipod  you should have all the instructions.  Go to your computer music player  media or what ever you use.   put the songs in there and then plug your ipod to your computer with a usb cable.  the window pops up and tells you if you want to sync your music to the ipod.

Regardless music or movie, you should put them to ipod throught itunes, if you don't install itunes till now, you can download at http://www.apple.com/download

after install and sync ipod to itunes, you can use Daniusoft DVD Ripper to convert music to ipod format and drag directly to ipod with itunes, the guide here shows you how to do that.
