IP (Internet Protocol) addresses are simply addresses the computers use to communicate with other computers using Internet Protocol Standards.  I don't know which server you use, but if you have AOL, on the e-mails you receive there is a item at the top which says "Sent from the internet-details".  If you click that it will show the IP address of the sender.  Hope this helps.

Step 1

First, this how-to is only for computers (laptops or desktops) with the windows operating system. Also, in order for this to be useful, your computer should be hooked up to the internet or network - either wirelessly or wired.

  • Step 2
Next, press the "start" button, typically located in the lower-left corner of the screen.

  • Step 3
Now, press "Run." This should bring up a dialog box with an area for text entry. Within this box, type "CMD" and press "Enter."

  • Step 4
This will bring up the Command Prompt, which is typically a window with a blue or black background. The image attached shows something similar to what you will see. In this window, type in "ipconfig" and press "Enter"

  • Step 5
This will provide you with a few results - one of which will be your IP address. Your IP address should be similar in the form to "123.456.7.89"

An Internet Protocol IP) Address is a numerical label that is assigned to devices participating in a computer n/w utilizing the IPfor communication between its nodes. You can get the ip address from http://www.ip-details.com/
