God does not speak directly to humans as he did in the Bible. The Bible contains 66 biblia or little books. Many men were used to write these books which contain God's instructions, future plans for humans, how he feels, i.e what makes him sad, happy and angry. Also, included are examples of blessings and punishment. But most of all, it contains the history and life of his Son who was a model for Christians to follow in his footsteps. He was called the Greatest Teacher. Everything we need to follow in Jesus footsteps, please God his father and be able to attain the hope of finding true happiness while we live in a stressful world, along with instructions on how to be the best parents, children, husbands and wives are given in the Bible. The hope of living forever and how to meet the requirements for true christians to receive that reward is laid out in the Bible verses.
The Bible is the only book that God said he is the Author of even though he used faithful prophets to write down the words. Much like a Boss dictates a letter using his secretary but his thoughts and words are contained in the letter and his signature is at the bottom.
Jesus served as a tutor to teach the people who had forsaken the true beliefs of the bible on how to properly serve God, his father. He always endeavored to do everything his father asked of him and he always directed the worship toward his father.
The Bible is a complete book of instruction and covers the beginning of God's creation until the end of his prophecy in Revelation which is the War of Armegeddon. The fulfillment of prophecies given sometimes 200 years in advance sets this book apart from all others.
Before Jesus died, he said he would send a helper which was God's holy spirit or active force to help us in endeavoring to become the kind of Christian God approves of and recall the things we learn from the bible to mind. This avenue of prayer is another way of drawing close to God and developing a relationship like Abraham had when he was called God's friend. We just need to recognize our prayers must be asked in the name of Jesus when we close them because he is the mediator for us and it also helps us to remember that he gave his life for us and became a ransom for dying mankind.
The Bible is also used by his ministers on earth who are following his command to "Preach the good news in all the earth" and are the ones that are feeding his sheep and using the Bible for guidance and instruction.
These are the methods he is using now to talk to us. It's complete. So if you really want to get the benefit of all the "healthful teachings" of God's way of talking to us today, why not begin with prayer, ask for help in understanding the Bible, search for someone who is willing to have a personal bible study with you so you can understand it better because contrary to what many believe, the Bible is not laid out in complete chronological order and can sometimes jump to different subjects.
We need to take advantage of talking to God in prayer all through the day because this can bring peace and when you receive answers and direction, you will experience for yourself how to use this means of communication God provided for us in the time we are living to talk to him. Remember the Bible says he reserves this priviledge only for himself and that "he is the hearer of prayer.
This is a sincere and valid question, which is probably one of many you have. So please search out the answers to any Bible questions by going to the Bible (which is like a cookbook to cooks or a map for a traveler) and also use the best line of communication available for us today to talk to and get answers from God and that is prayer. You may be surprised at how he may lead you to the answers and then you will personally experience how God talks to us today!
Prophets, and direct communication in Bible times were necessary to get the instructions written down, provide proof that the Bible was from God and guide his people who had no complete written instructions. But today we have the complete book of instructions to help us reach all our spiritual goals. Happy reading awaits you.
I study the Bible with inmates at Jails and have been a student of the Bible for too many years to count. If you have any other questions, just ask. Hope this helps.
