Your creative mind is your ticket to greatnesss.

Yes, it is authentic. I know people that have found valuable information using this web site. Keep in mind that after a certain amount of time it is not free. I had better luck tracing my ancestry using the web site from Ellis Island -http://www.ellisisland.org/.

Yes, it is authentic and has alot of very good info.

  1. It is authentic, but expensive.  It does not go back far enough for my purposes.  Actually, if you have a local library with a genealogy dept., they usually have free computer access to Ancestry.com.

The documents you find there are authentic and many historical records are to be found as well. You need to be careful about taking family trees  that are pulbic there as accurate, since many people just assume that a tree is the same as theirs because of similarities. Many trees there are completely unsourced. Meaning that the researcher does not have any birth or census docus, etc. You need to source your tree or "prove it " as you go along. You can begin at ancestry by starting a "private " tree which only you can see as you work on it and then you can make it public if you want. All genealogy info needs to be taken with a grain of salt unless you have the records or it comes straight from ggggrandmas bible.

Yes, ancestry.com is authentic.  It's a very good website.  Too bad they have to charge you to look for anything, BUT every time I sign on, they say I have a free trial membership.  I can't get everything I want, but it gives me a place to start.  They can't charge you unless they have your credit card number.  So if you sign on for the first time, they may give you a free trial membership and just make sure and contact them before the free trial is up.  I don't know what they do if you don't, but it is an authentic website.  They joined up with rootsweb.comRootsweb.com is entirely free.  I use that most of the time.
