Nod 32 reported an infection of:Win 32/ Hack AV.G ...

Nod 32 reported an infection of:Win 32/ Hack AV.G application in program files/Eset/Nod fix.reg.(During in depth analisys).

When making a specific analisys to the nod files,it  doesn`t find a thing....(The nod cheks its own files in this procedure).

Can anyone clarify what is going on?Should I regard it as aproblem in view of the inconcictencies and that I dont seem to see any failure in the computer functions? Thanks

.reg file contain registry entries.

that file reset some setting of nod32 so it beleive it's a new trial.
so it does not do anything 100% illegal as it only changes settings.
but you should definitively encourage eset and buy more subscription:)
once you are registered with eset they provide you user/pass
and that file is now 100% useless.

.reg file alone cannot do anything.
They are merged to registry by being passed as a command line to either
regedit.exe or regedt32.exe. If you delete the file and that file is setup to be launched regularly then you may have complains about that file being missing. To avoid this you must stop the mechanism that launch that file.

You migth want to check
nod32
control center>System tools>Scheduler

for something that look like the name of the .reg file you have.
Now i beleive this is pretty complete.

Again i cant stress enougth how nod is a good av that merit being financially encouraged.

Can you remove it or just have it quarantined?. If you haven't removed it yet, have it done in Windows "safe mode". If you did, double check with another anti spyware application like Lavasoft's adware.

3 thumbs up

Well that is exactly Hack.AV = Hack.Antivirus

Well basicly it's a cracked version of nod32 you use (sort of)
It's harmless, legally doubtous but not dangerous.
