May be I can help you. Im alot older now Im 41 years old but I was born with Epilepsy. I had spinal mental gitis when I was born. I will admit When I hit second grade I started to get scared cause I didnt know what was wrong with me when I had my Siezures. Cause I would have Grandmals and when You Have Grandmals your body get stiff and you jerk alot eyes roll back in your head and your lips turn purple. and some times not all the time you wet your pants. Way back kids use to say that I had a demon in me because some were in the bible a man had siezures and jesus put his hand on him and said something to the affect demons be gone. I was hurt about what the kids had did to me and I was ashamed I wouldnt tell no one I had it because I wanted people to like me but then as I got older. I relized that I schouldnt hide what I have they can like me for who I'am and what I have If they dont like it then I would say to them then you lost a good Friend. And when I turned 18 I was told by my mom that I couldnt work or have children that if I have a child the child will come out retarded. Will thank god I was a stubren teen cause I got a job I explain my problem and said to my boss who ever covers for me on my day I have a Siezure that I would cover for that person so I got a job as a nurses Aid. Then I got married and I had a child my first child I miss carried my second child is alive and health. the only thing she has is adhd and asthma and hypo thirod and that did not come from me. its in my husband genes and I forgot to tell you My husband has Siezures to. He had a bad car accident and a head injury is what caused him to have siezures. But are daughter dont have it. I also rember doctors telling my mom to watch for my mouth to turn purple because that means I swallowed my tounge and she needs to put me on my side fast. Will I kind of laughed at that doctor and said to him can u swallow ur tounge he said no. then I said ok no one can swallow there toungue what might happen is the toungue might swell up and block the air passage. and my lips will turn blue and my mom turned me on my side. What I also can tell you is that ur son haveing siezures isnt the end of the world. And that when he has a siezure roll him on his side dont panic and call 911. cause he is young. And when ever he feels down and sad about his epliepsy just tell him he is speacial and that he schould pay no mind to kids who tease or pick on him because they dont understand and dont know what it is. Always support him as he gets older. Im no longer a nurses aid im a stay at home mom. I hope I helped you some.
