Can induction heating be used to heat water?

I'm not sure in what context you are asking. Do you mean heating water for cooking? If this is what you are asking then I can tell you that heating water with induction technology is very efficient. In fact it is quicker than using gas. One of the advantages to using an induction cook top is that changes in power settings are immediately transferred to the pan. With an electric element, and to a lesser degree with gas there is a delay waiting for the pan to either heat up or cool off when turning on or adjusting settings. Another reason induction cooking is quicker is because close to 100% of the energy goes to heating the pan, unlike gas and electric where much of the heat just heats up the room.
