Me and my boyfriend have been together for 2 years, we are both broke from college and are running out of fun cheap things to do. especially because it is winter time. Any ideas?

A healthy relationship starts with trust and honesty and a big warm genuine smile.

My favorite gift idea that I recommend to couples low on cash is what I call a "relationship coupon booklet." Basically, you design coupons to give to your partner that allows them to "cash-in" on something at any time, such as a back massage, foot rub, get out of taking the trash for a week, extra hour on playstation, etc. You can really be creative on what the coupons are for as the ones I mentioned are only suggestions. It's a great way to have fun and save money. It's also really nice to enclose a card expressing how you feel for your partner with these relationship coupons.

Hope this helps. Happy holidays!

Take the sub allover the city, walk the grocery store to find free food samples,  go watch a friend in a sports game and cheer for him. Camp in the woods, Help someone needy together -like paint his house or something.

There's nothing like good long walks in the winter, especially near water or in the woods.  You'll look back later in life with some great memories.

it costs you nothing, but helps you appreciate the REAL value of your life on this planet.

I am always one for cuddling up with a cup of hot cocoa and a good movie but if you want to go out then ice skating is really fun and if you have the means you can even find good deals during the weekdays to go skiing (depending on where you are located). During Christmas time I like to go for drives around different neighborhoods and check out the decorations. It can be a really fun and beautiful little road trip. If you don't mind regressing back to younger years, I would also recommend going sledding! I hope you have fun!

My wife and I have been married for 35 years.  Times are tough now.  We can't do the things we used to do.  What we do is fish, or just look around.  In the winter we go to the forest preserve and go for a walk.  There are trails, you can see all kinds of birds, deer, turkeys, ect.    When you get home, a nice cup of coffee, or other beverage of your choice, and a nice hot bath together.  This will give you something to do, give you memories, and trust me on this, lots of laughs.

This will also bring you closer together as a couple.  Good luck Megs, let me know how things are going.

Watch the social section of your local newspaper, or check out online websites about the city you live in.  There are ALWAYS free events, such as craft fairs, art exhibits, sports exhibitions, etc.  Even if they sound goofy, or like they are not your cup of tea, check it out, at the least, it might be good for a laugh.  Also, many bars or coffee shops keep board games for customer's use.  Pick a time that isn't normally busy, buy a soda or a beer, and enjoy the competition.

Also some bars host free trivia, some times on TV and sometimes hosted live. Again, buy a soda or an appetizer and enjoy the game. Some dance clubs offer free dance lessons, early in the evening - learn how to salsa, swing, or whatever else they offer.

If you know anyone that owns a portable GPS device you could borrow, check out geocaching.  It's interesting and free, gets you outside and, allows you to explore areas you might not otherwise see.

Set up your own sampling event.  Try different types of teas, coffees, beer, etc. Bake until find the PERFECT chocolate chip cookie recipe. Make a pie the old-fashioned way.

Explore the public library, browse at the thrift store, have a picnic and read to each other. Take turns playing DJ and playing your favorite music for each other.  Write a story together.  Play an online game. Teach him how to paint your toe-nails, learn how to give him a really great shave.

Another GREAT way to spend time with your other is to volunteer together.  Find a Habitat for Humanity project, work a food bank, help out at a community clean-up.  Walk dogs at the local shelter. You'll be spending time together AND helping others, a real win-win.
