Do you have any idea how to increase dog's testosterone levels and increase sperm count?

Do you have any idea how to increase dog's testosterone levels and increase sperm count?  We have a purebredAKC registered Rottweiler male 2 years old, who has passed all his test for breeding.  He is gorgeous, bred standard size and looks like a champion and is ready for showing.  Sounds great, right?  Except he has been unable to get 3 females pregnant ( we are experienced breeders and have not had problems in the past).  His testicles are small and his sperm count is low (he has healthy sperm and some slow swimmers as the vet puts it).  Do you have any idea how to increase dog's testosterone levels and increase sperm count?

I don't think I want to shoot my dog up with steroids.  They seem way to dangerous and and even deadly and I hear that they can cause birth defects in humans.

ok Tribulus Terrestris increases testosterone in men and is a natural herb you can buy pills from health shops idk if it works with dogs but it should

The extract is claimed to increase the body's natural testosterone levels and thereby improve male sexual performance and help build muscle. T. terrestris has consistently failed to increase testosterone levels in controlled studies.[6][7][8] It has also failed to demonstrate strength-enhancing properties.[9] However, many supplement brands such as 4Ever Fit and InterACTIVE Nutrition have sold products that combine various herbs with T. terrestris, with debatable effects.

Tribulus has been shown to enhance sexual behaviour in an animal model.[10] It appears to do so by stimulating androgen receptors in the brain.

Some body builders use T. terrestris as post cycle therapy or "PCT". After they have completed an anabolic-steroid cycle, they use it under the assumption that it will restore the body's natural testosterone ..                                                      Animal studies in rats, rabbits and primates have demonstrated that administration of Tribulus terrestris extract can produce statistically significant increases in levels of testosterone, dihydrotestosterone and dehydroepiandrosterone,[12] and produces effects suggestive of aphrodisiac activity.[13] On the other hand, one recent study found that T. terrestris caused no increase in testosterone or LH in young men,[levels.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tribulus_terrestris

How soon do you want to breed this dog?  I have had very good success with herbs.  I used it on one of my shepherds that had a 0 sperm count and got him up to 70% in under two weeks with good motility.  If you are interested, I'll see if I can look up the formula I used.

Exercise is very important to increase a dog's testosterone levels. It will increase circulation to have better ejaculation and eventually boost sperm count.

Honestly, I believe there is a reason why your dog has a low sperm count. And that reason is that there are so many unwanted animals (of which I work with on a daily basis), the big man upstairs is saying it's not necessary to have your dog reproduce. There are enough animals that need homes, you don't need to add to that population.

I would love to hear what herbs you used.  Could you please post the formula?  Also the dosage?

Thanks

Sorry for the delay Deb!  OK, here is what I used:

For 3 days before you actually start the regimen, give the dog 2 cranberry capsules, Vitamin C, 1000 mg, and Vitamin E 400U in his food.  This will help clean out his urinary tract and boost his immune system.  I don't keep dogs on the cranberry too long because you don't want the urine too acidic.

Next, Yohimbre extract 3 drops under the tongue daily. (This can be found I believe at GNC)

Continue the Vitamin C and Vitamin E

Dong quai 2 capsules

Siberian/Chinese Ginsing with Red Deer Antler (comes in a small vial, package of 10) 1 vial

Royal Jelly 2 caps

Bee Pollen 2 caps

Red Clover 2 caps

I open the capsules of the herbs and pour boiling water over them to make a tisang.  Let it cool a bit add the dog's food and put in the remaining capsules.  If you only generally feed dry, add canned to it.  I would not increase the Dong Quai any more than the two capsules as dogs cannot tolerate more than this dosage.  I did this for a week and the sperm count dramatically increased.  Now if you don't see results from this, there are other herbs that can be added which can also increase motility and number of sperm.  Let me know and I can add some others.  Oh, I only use this short term, like about 2 weeks before the bitch is to be bred.
