The first thing to do is to find out why your husband snores. He could be suffering from sleep apnea, which is a condition that causes people to snore because they cannot breathe properly. This is quite serious as it can lead to heart problems. You can learn more about sleep apnea on this site
Apart from sleep apnea there are a few other possible causes of snoring. One is an obstruction of the nasal passages (sort of like having a cold or an allergy or a post nasal drip). Another reason is that as men get older there is an area of skin in the throat that folds over and blocks the air passage, and causes breathing problems. This is more common in men who are overweight, and sometimes can be remedied by an operation.
As far as I know there is no clear remedy for snoring. I have tried a number of over the counter herbal remedies that are supposed to clear the nasal passages, none helped me. There is also a sort of plaster thing that is stuck on the bridge of the nose and is supposed to cause the nasal passages to be more open. It works, as long as it does not come off ( but it always does). Sometimes if the snorer sleeps in a different position his air passage is not blocked (or less so).You could try getting your husband to roll over or sleep in a different position.
In some cases there is a type of ventilator machine that blows air into the man's mouth and prevents the breathing problems. This solution is more complicated, and your husband may have to go to a sleep laboratory where they will measure his breathing during the night and determine if the machine can help him.
If all else fails you can try sleeping with ear plugs. It won't cure his problem, but at least you will be able to get a good night's rest.
