Hi. i am studying first year in mathematics and computer science.
my interests are mainly web developing and i have basic knowledge in CSS/MySQL/PHP/Ruby On Rails/(x)HTML.
i am thinking whether i should quit my first degree studies, and go work in a internet company (startup?), or keep on finishing it, and then look for a job.
cheers for the help.

Finish what you begin, I say! You'll thank yourself later.
And keep plugging away in the evenings and weekends, keep yourself up to speed with the Internet. Can you tie the Internet in to your maths work? - e.g. projects, assignments?

It doesn't hurt you to continue your education and maybe if your money situation is tight get a job on the side. Basically you need some experience and just practice coding to get better and get a good resume.
thanks for the reply..
its funny that you say "it doesnt hurt" on something that lasts for three years :)
cheers..
I agree, finish what you gegan.
I have studied mathematics and informatics and besides I implemented Excel makros for business companies to earn some money.
Afterwards I was working as freelancer (Electronic Data Exchange / EDI).
One year later I applied for a developer job at SAP.
I never missed to have basics of mathematics and software engineering to rely on when designing software.
If you are looking for excellent books on innovation, read books of Tom Kelley (Idea, Palo alto). The basic of innovation are part of 'The Art of Innovation'.
Try to practice on implementation. Maybe you can assist companies to use widgets to speed up simple tasks like 'application for leave' or help them to use wikis to improve collaboration of their employees.
