Best is a bit of a broad definition... :-)

It eventually boils down to a couple of parameters:

  • Latency - who will access the site and are you willing to host it close to the users using it
  • Bandwidth - how much will it consume?
  • Performance - Do you really need a VPS or a dedicated machine or a shared hosting solution will suffice

I had good experience with corenetworks.net (where I have a dedicated server). They give 1000Gb bandwidth per month and an IP KVM access (always good to have).

I would also check out Web Hosting Talk which is a great forum with lots of people discussing hosting at all levels starting from shared hosting, VPS and dedicated server.

Eran,
Do you know if they, corenetworks.net, can supply sql-server2005 with their dedicated server?
And if so, for how much?

uru, I have no idea. I haven't seen a word on their site if their dedicated servers support Windows.

The problem is that they currently don't receive new orders for servers until they will undergo some major changes in their data center.

I would simply Email and ask them if they support it and for how much more.

You should check out

Vistapages. They have VPS and Dedicated hosting plans that are affordable and reliable! Best of luck!

I already tried the email thing, they just didn't reply...

If you'll hear from them it would be nice to know.. although the minimum you expect from service provider is to reply on your mails as soon as he gets it, don't you think? But don't reply at all?!? bad impression..

tnx anyway, I appreciate it :-)

I feel you starting bussiness with low budget and very good service you need to go for manashosting. It is giving very good packages with very less price.

Fat Cow is a highly rated affordable host, you get a free domain name and their prices are very reasonable (60 bucks are year or so) you can check out a review of them and many other hosts at top web hosting I hope this helps, good luck with your search.
