Sylvia - Only you can decide what you like. I would suggest you visit a paint store that sells small trial jars of paint. Benjamin Moore is one brand that sells the little samples and its a top quality paint. I also buy some disposable mini-rollers so I don't have any cleanup after trying out some sample colors on my wall. If you want to send some pictures contact me through the contact form at http://www.handyguyspodcast.com Maybe we can discuss your project on a future show. Some before, during (different samples on the wall) and after pictures would be ideal!

I finally got tired of the same old and being afraid of color and always playing it safe. I finally remodeled my house with all the colors that make me smile. I'm Cape Cod waterfront - periwinkle purple in my kitchen picks up the color of the inside of a mussel shell if you can picture that, aqua living room walls reflect the water - along with wood floors and lots of white trim this place is awesome. I have a beach glass chandelier, clear and colorful crystal knobs and lots of shells from the beach. I would tape the paint samples to the wall using the process of elimination until I got down to the one that kept catching my eye. I remodeled my entire house in beautiful colors that are rich and classy looking not tacky at all. I put aquamarine glass tiles and a pebble floor in my bathroom. It's gorgeous! Don't be afraid. Just go for it. People walk in here and don't want to leave...........Mary
