Why show clearing a bath tub drain through the ...

Why show clearing a bath tub drain through the actual drain when you *should* go through the overflow? Going through the drain as you showed will only send the snake up the overflow with the way bathtubs are made.

With some drains you have no choice, but to go through the overflow, like mine.

This is a picture of me going on a call to clear a bathtub drain. The second picture of cute little old me is when I called the owner to let him know that the snake got the clog out of the drain.
