Ask Eric Stromer a question here. Is there anything to change existing brass faucets, door nobs, etc. to change to say a bronze color, like some type of chemical gel or something over the fixture? It would be rather expensive to replace all these fixtures and our house is only six years old and I bought rathere expensive fixtures (Delta, etc.). Thank you.

Life is a one lap race. Make many pitstops.

Other than taking them off and having them chrome plated (which would also be expensive) I'm not aware of any quick fix.

There is no very easy way to do this.  Old lacquer coatings must be removed and special acid prep materials must be applied with sanding.  Try your local automotive store for transparent coatings (acrylic lacquer is ideal).  Need Wax&Grease Removers to clean residue after sanding and acid etch.  Get them to give you detailed procedure.

The best to you.
