Our small dining room is in desperate need of ...

Our small dining room is in desperate need of redecorating. We have a round oak table with 4 matching chairs as well as a small china cabinet. The DR is open with the Living Room which I had professionally decorated. The main colors are blue and yellow  and off white sofa and area rug. Should I purchase a tablecloth (what color(s) and do you have any recomendations for items on the wall? The walls are  off white/vanilla tint.  The DR connects to the LR in an "L" shape.

I think I would buy a carpet and curtains there that would match your living room. I wouldn't buy any tablecloth in this situation but would try to put something on the table - flowers maybe or candles that would also match the colors. Walls..uhhmm, maybe reproduction of impressionists' painitngs - they have live and bright colors that match almost everything. And on one wall might hang a picture of your family all together or other picture that you have made and you are extremely proud of.
