Fertility Stories - infertility experiences of people like you.

The "old" method is known as the "turkey baster" method, in which the semen is placed in a turkey baster.

Another method uses a cup called the instead softcup, which is meant to be used to collect menstrual blood.

Neither of these methods has medical approval.

Conceivex has a product that is in the process of FDA approval for home sale (all of the parts are approved & you can buy the kit with a prescription) - this uses a silicon cap that is placed over the cervix, with the semen inside. The kit includes everything you need - ovulation predictor sticks, a special condom, etc - its main disadvantage is the high price (around $300 for 3 cycles). On their site, I believe they have links to relevant medical research.

Whatever you do, just like any woman trying to conceive, choose the fertile time (use an ovulation calculator and possibly an ovulation prediction kit) and stay in the same position for about 20 minutes.

Good luck,

Good luck. i can't wait to hear how it goes. I am currently on my fourth IUI using a doctor. I am getting very frustrated and it has been an emotional rollercoaster. One thing to remember during this process is to keep talking to your partner......at times you may feel that you are going through this alone but your partner needs you to keep her informed. It will make the process less emotional.

I know that my doc. told me to take a lot of folic acid and there is a receipe that you can mix nd drink every day... to help you become more fertile, i can't use it as for i'm allergic to some ingrediants...  so if you want it i'll post it on monday morning for you (theres one for you and you partner...)

Yes I would like the receipe for both women and men thanks so much for this info.
