I work full time monday through thursday 10 hour ...

i work full time monday through thursday 10 hour days totalling 40 hours. i get 8 paid holidays. this year july 4 falls on a friday and this is one of the 8 paid holidays - since i am a full time employee but i don't work on fridays, do i still get paid for that day so i would get 50 hours that week - i say the answer is yes - thank you for your help

Easy like sunday morning!

I would really speak the HR department about this before you make that assumption. Due the the economy most employers are making changes on how they are allowing employees paid holidays and days off. It sounds like you should get paid for that holiday but you might now since you do not work on Fridays. The way I understand it, is if you are scheduled to work on that day you will be paid, if you are not scheduled to work you will not be paid, it is just a day off for you.
