A:I couldn't picture anyone other than him as Gandalf. Not only is he physically perfect for the part but his voice is absolutely perfect! He has to get the part. I think though that if it was necessary to replace him, like say if he was booked on another movie er something, than based on voice and personality Patrick Stuart would be a good stand in.
