You're kidding, right? Can you imagine the world without laws? It would NOT be an idyllic nirvana of love and flowers. Since the fall of man, evil exists, period. Without laws, those who do not answer to God's guidance would be entirely free to self-worship without boundaries. See the car, want the car, take the car, no worries.  See the woman, lust for the woman, violate the woman, no consequences.  You can see where this goes.  You WERE kidding, right?

Cindy is right.  Without laws, there would be no punishment for wrongdoing or rules for mankind to live by, like the speed limit, the amount of alcohol one consumes before being legally drunk, the number of days children must attend school, and on and on.  Can you imagine a world without any laws?  Civilization would not be what we know it to be, or it would be nonexistent altogether.

It shifts us from a system of "who's right" to a system of "what's right." Written law is not only literally the 1st standard of any civilization, but the only standard. Thus, "the veneer of civilization is paper thin."
