Probably. It is a very common condition. You might try something like preparation H or similar product. If your hemmorrhoids get too painful or bleed a lot, see your Dr. There are simple treatments available.

Not necessarily. You could just have a small fissure. If it happens with every bowel movement then it could be a hemorrhoid. Otherwize if it happens infrequently and only produces a small amount of blood it's probably a fissure caused by the irritation of straining or a bout of diarrhea.

mattins, Thanks for your reply, as I had to change my post. I don't know where my brain was the other day, but not here I guess.

I meant to say small fissure, why I wrote lesion and didn't even see my mistake is beyond me. But anyway have you seen your doctor? When this very thing happened to me I went flying to the doctor the next day thinking I had a hemorroid, but after his exam, he said it was only a fissure. He said this happens to a lot of people from time to time, and not to worry about it unless it happens frequently, then you could be developing a hemorroid. He said the same conditions that cause a fissure could lead to future hemorroids if the causitive factor isn't eliminated. Such as in my case, a severe bout of diarrhea. He said many people are under the assumption (me being one of them) that fissures and hemorroids are caused from straining with hard movements or constipation. Which is not always true, as in my case. He said any constant straining, OR, irritation from diarrhea, can have the same result. Anyway it never happened again, so I guess he was right. Which put my mind at ease. Hope your's is as simple a matter as was mine, and you have no future problems. Good luck and get poopin right! LOL
