Can you help?

Hi, i need help for a problem i have experienced over the last few years, which i am worried is unique to me and will hinder me throughout all my life and am severely concerned. It is partly psychological but has severe negative symptoms It seems whenever i come into intimate contact with the opposite sex (males), whether this be mutual attraction and therefore the prospect of further intimacy, or kissing, i get so nervous it very often leads to nausea and vomiting, which is (as you can imagine) very embarrassing and has me worrying what on earth is wrong with me. I try mentally calming myself down to try to make myself less nervous but this often fails and i just don't know what to do. Can you help?

This sounds to be more of an insecurity than anything, but I could be wrong.  If it is, I recommend trying to work on the insecurities that you have within yourself, and the rest should work it's self out.

Sounds like pretty common symptoms for anxiety. I had a friend that used to get the same symptoms when she had to talk in front of a crowd.

I think that it can easilly be solved with anti anxiety medication and therapy.

Talk to your MD or set an appointment with a psychiatrist. There's really no reason to experience os much suffering and agony.

There's no magic pill that just get you through it but in a combination of medication and therapy a vast number of people manage to get over their problems and learn ot deal with life differently.

I guess you just have to spend more time with the person and get used with being close to him.

The symptoms sound, very much based in anxiety, but the real question, I have, is, do you experience these same symptoms at other times, or just when you are faced with a possibility of an intimate encounter? If this is the only time these symptoms manifest, I would suggest seeking the help of a professional, and telling them, what you have said here. I have had similar symptoms, but never in the same situation. I really think, you do need to ask someone, who is trained, to ask the right questions, and help you come to a conclusion, so you can finally get help. There is no reason to keep suffering, or feeling ashamed. I hope you get help, and work through whatever it is, that is triggering such a strong, fear response.
