Can you help?

I have been trying to get pregnant for over 6 months. We had intercourse within 24 hours of egg white discharge. I have a cycle of 26 days and on my 27th day I had one day of brown blood which I assumed was the start of my period but it stopped and now two days later I'm not sure if it was implantation bleeding? I don't think I have any other pregnancy symptoms - but I have been crying a lot lately and I'm not sure if that's got anything to do with it? Please help if you know what it could be! I would love to be pregnant but I did a test about four days ago and it came up negative but that was before the bleed. help!

If the test was negative you should probably wait for a few more days and take another test, assuming you're still late.

The crying could be hormones, but I'm guessing you're emotionally invested in this, and anything is a trigger, so I wouldn't count on the crying to tell if you're pregnant.

I know it a terrible strain.

Brown discharge is old blood and is normal unless it lasts for 10 or more days straight, or if it has a foul odor.  If it has a foul odor, this indicates infection and needs to be seen by a doctor.  Implantation bleeding is usually pinkish and spotty, and nothing like a period.  This could be part of implantation bleeding, or normal discharge.  If your regular period is at least two weeks late, I would make an appointment with your doctor to have a blood pregnancy test done, as this is more accurate than any home test.  I might add that on average it takes a couple a year to conceive.  If after a year of trying you do not become pregnant, both you and your partner should both see your doctors for an exam and testing, and possibly referral to a fertility specialist.  The most important thing is to try and be as stress free as possible, as stress can affect fertility.
