I have a standard bit of advice for any problems regarding reach or finger strength. Go out and get yourself an inexoensive bass guitar. Practice on it a lot. This will improve both your reach and your finger strength as well as strengthening your rhythmic and scalar basics. I say this having been a musician and a studio guitarist who was taught to play by Roy Buchanan and Tommy Tedesco, who was the one who originally told me about using the bass to increase finger strength and reach.
Most people don't know who Tommy was, but you can see here

If you don't know anything about the late, great Tommy Tedesco, then you're missing something vital in your music education for sure - a legendary guitar player and session musician! Great tip about the bass guitar, by the way! Something else to think about is this: How well is your guitar set up (adjusted)? A well set up guitar is a breeze to play, while the opposite is the total nightmare. With a properly adjusted guitar, all you need is some proper guidance and then stick with it until you nail it. Everything is possible as long as you keep working on it. And yeah, try the bass guitar thingy too :-) Learn Blues Guitar
