how do you do all the chords and remember besides practice and how long does it take to learn?
Learning guitar chords is a process, but it doesn't have to be a slow one. I would start with the essentials, getting a book (or learning from a teacher) how to strum on the guitar, how to hold the pic correctly, and how to play be basics: G, Em, Am, D, C... and then move on to Dm, E, A, etc. There are many chords, but once you learn a few, you will see that the others are not that differnet. I would also practice moving from one chord to another. Em to Am is a very easy switch and there are many songs that have the progression, G, D, C, D... so that's a good progression to practice. Good luck. The hardest party is starting. When you have a handle on sevarel chorids, you can then start to learn bar chords, which take a bit more time to master, but it's not that hard.
